The congregation represents a cross-section of the age groups, employment and backgrounds of modern residents of Forres. Its life and witness is led by the Kirk Session (Minister and Elders), and a Congregational Board elected by the congregation administers its finances and property. Its worship and other activities aim is to strengthen people's faith, and to encourage the service of Christ in today's world. St. Laurence is a congregation in the Presbytery of Moray.

The Communion Roll currently stands at 437 with 47 adherents, 11 children and 141 on the Supplementary Roll.

In 2010 there were 3 baptism, 5 marriages and 74 funerals.

2006 was a high point in the life of the congregation as the centenary of the current building was celebrated.
